After several years of researching old breeds of hogs, we have decided to raise Berkshire. I think we have come up with the breed that will be the best eating around! It is an attractive breed that is black in color with white points on its head, belly, and feet. It is a shorter animal with a long body. It has a reputation of exceptional eating qualities, such as tenderness and flavor We intend to raise them outdoors and free ranged when possible. This will further enhance the flavor of the meat by diversifying their diet. Their feed (including vegetables) will be raised on our farm as much as possible and purchased organically when necessary. The hogs will be hormone and antibiotic free!

Cuts of meat will include roasts, pork chops, loin chops, steaks, ribs, bacon, sausage, hams, and ham hocks. The amount of meat you could take home will be around 75 pounds for a half hog and 150 pounds for the whole hog. There will be additional cost for processing, curing, and sausage that you will pay directly to Valley Packing.

The deposit is due at the time of your order. The remainder needs to be paid by the time we take the animal to the processor. Price details are available on the signup form.
